Storyline

Tyler and Caroline are back just in time to watch Klaus, who Bonnie's spell temporarily locked up in the Gilberts' home while they accompany the Salvatores and Rebekah on professor Atticus Shane's expedition to free Silas from a cave-dungeon on a desolate island off Nova Scotia. Provoked, Klaus manages to bite Caroline, so that only his blood can save her. The expedition, during which Atticus slowly divulges his plans and how his late wife, a witch, cued his whole plan, is plagued by discord, rivalry, conflicting intents concerning the cure and armed mystery assailants. Stefan ends up alone with bitter rivals Elena and Rebekah.

Goofs

When the group is hiking up to the cave that holds Silas, they all walk at human speed, with Shane leading them at the front. There is no logical reason for this, considering that everyone in the group except Shane has supernatural powers (vampire speed, Hunter's physical ability, witch powers). They were all in a hurry to find Silas before any rival groups could, and if one of them had carried Shane, the hike would have lasted a matter of minutes.

great episode as TVD takes a island

So the search for the cure leads them to a island, I love the whole cure storyline and taking it to a island was a fun little change of scenery, overall great episode if only rebecca was not such a spoiled little cry baby trying to mess up everything
