The Twilight Zone

The primary reason the new Twilight Zone series fails to inspire is it lacks the originality that made the older series catch words for all things weird and wonderful.

The freshness of tales that really grabbed you back in the day have been replaced by mostly slow, plodding scripts inhabited by largely uninteresting characters. Worse still, there a number of not so original overused tropes that are recycled yet again. These serve to pad out the series episodes but do it no favours in every other sense.

Suffice to say if you are going to take an icon of sci fi with a dash of horror and social commentary and recreate it you had bloody well better make sure its "top shelf". Sadly, in this case, its more the "bargain basement" stuff you find down at knee level. 4/10 from me.
