Storyline

Carrie, a young religious fundamentalist, is abandoned by her missionary father and has to move in with her mother, who came out of the closet and married another woman. Not only that, but they have a biological child, Tia. The story takes place over the first two days at a strange new house, as Carrie's new parents leave for a business trip, she must take care of her stepsister. As creepy occurrences lead to full blown terror, Carrie must learn to overcome her own fears and beliefs to save her little sister.

Near the beginning of the movie, homage is played to "A Nightmare on Elm Street" (1984), which also stars Heather Lagenkamp, when a cruicifx hung over the bed falls off the wall.

Goofs

After Tia pees herself she is been put to bed in yellow pyjamas. When Carrie takes her out of bed later she is wearing her school clothes again which she peed in earlier.

User Reviews

A warning about the sound.

This movie is ruined by the sound, most of the movie plays at 20% of the maximum volume just so the volume can be 5 times louder at a few points that are meant to make you jump. If a movie makes me jump it should be because it's scary, not because I'm worried the sound is going to damage my speakers.
