MPAA Rated PG-13 for brief strong language

Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • Gore: None
  • An explosion happens at one point. No blood. Could be intense to some.
  • Like the Frightening and Intense segment said below, some news segments display riots, though no blood. There is an audio recording of a foreign person talking, and then gunshots are heard. The event is not shown.

  • One gratuitous use of "fuck", other very minor profanities like "bastard" and "damn".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Alcohol: A character is briefly shown drinking a few times, but is never drunk. These shots last maybe 5 seconds. A character tells another to "pull out that bottle you've been hiding" at an exciting moment. No alcohol shown.
  • Drugs: None
  • Smoking: None

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Those with "megalophobia" are likely to feel anxious at the sight of the UFO's
  • The entire film carries a strong tension regarding the question of the aliens' purpose; an air of potential danger. It is portrayed in a realistic way, using news broadcasts, for example. Young children may require clarification that they are viewing fiction.

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • A man asks a woman if they want to make a baby. She replies "Yes". NOTHING ELSE is seen. NO NUDITY at all, just the dialogue.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The beginning of the film shows a child dying of cancer. This might be emotional to some viewers
  • The last 20 minutes are somewhat intense. A reveal about the nature of the aliens comes out of nowhere and will completely catch first time viewers off guard.
