The mayor forbids Frank to cause a panic and ruin holiday business by calling for the public's help in search of a sniper who kills drivers who have no connection, except their cars' excessive CO2 footprint, a line thought brilliantly suggesting by Jamie's study of the unusual ammo used. Despite being distracted by Sean's bad fall while bicycling Danny finds a clue, but the resulting suspect died in a staged suicide. Written by KGF Vissers
The serial killer case that Donnie Wahlberg and Megan Ketch catch in this one is a puzzler. Someone is shooting people on parkways and killing them. The perpetrator when they catch him happens to be former military and sadly his marksmanship makes him sniper material.
What the killer does is leave clues at the sites of his kills because he wants to make a statement. Those clues are what gives him away because of his statement.
A sniper killer and the attending publicity create a political problem for the mayor as well. Tom Selleck is at loggerheads with the man who retained him from the previous administration.
While all this is going on, Wahlberg's younger son suffered a bicycle accident and he's in and out of consciousness. A really bad burden for Wahlberg, Amy Carlson and the rest of the Reagans to be dealing with.
When young Sean Reagan wakes up it is truly a touching scene. Worth watching this episode for that alone.
