The Drac pack is back for an all-new monster comedy adventure in Sony Pictures Animation's Hotel Transylvania 2! Everything seems to be changing for the better at Hotel Transylvania... Dracula's rigid monster-only hotel policy has finally relaxed, opening up its doors to human guests. But behind closed coffins, Drac is worried that his adorable half-human, half-vampire grandson, Dennis, isn't showing signs of being a vampire. So while Mavis is busy visiting her human in-laws with Johnny - and in for a major cultural shock of her own - "Vampa" Drac enlists his friends Frank, Murray, Wayne and Griffin to put Dennis through a "monster-in-training" boot camp. But little do they know that Drac's grumpy and very old, old, old school dad Vlad is about to pay a family visit to the hotel. And when Vlad finds out that his great-grandson is not a pure blood - and humans are now welcome at Hotel Transylvania - things are going to get batty!Written by
The wooden mask seen on the wall of the castle on several scenes could be a reference to a similar mask given to Nick Offerman's Ron Swanson in Parks and Recreation (2009). Leslie Knope and Ben Wyatt gifted the mask to Swanson when they returned from their Hawaiian honeymoon. See more »
Vlad says that Dennis' vampire name is "Denisovich". Presumably the writer intended this to mean "little Dennis", but this makes no sense in either Hungarian or Romanian, the two main languages of Transylvania. In Russian it would mean "son of Dennis" as a patronymic: Russian has lots of diminutives for personal names, but -ovich is not one of them, and anyway these vampires are not Russian. Apparently, the writers just randomly picked something vaguely Slavic sounding. See more »

Surprised that this film is great indeed for kids and adults too.

Hotel Transylvania 2 takes place seven years after the first film, with the hotel now open to human guests. Mavis and Johnny have a young son named Dennis, whose lack of any vampire abilities worries his grandfather Dracula. When Mavis and Johnny go on a visit to Johnny's parents, Dracula calls his friends to help him make Dennis a vampire. However, an unexpected visit from Dracula's old-school human-hating dad, Vlad soon turns things upside-down.
