Seven years after the massacre of the first film, the survivors Niandra and Eliseu still fear the return of Geison, the terrible psychopath who mutilated his friends on a Friday the 13th. New murders start happening in the small town of Carlos Barbosa, putting a new generation of victims as targets of the killer. But who is behind that "Scream" mask? Written by Anonymous
Weird to see that nobody reviewed this flick. i can see why, being made in Brazil for only $1500 and having the Portugese language it isn't that easy to find it or even watch it without subs. And also this is part 2, part 1 I even couldn't find but don't worry, there are enough flashbacks to part 1 in the beginning.
Naturally a flick made in ultra low budget has it limitations. And it shows. There's a lot of talking going on and the acting isn't Oscar worthy but of course these kind of horrors needs it from good effects. On part of the effects, some are easy to spot how they were done and others (like the stitching of a hand) are done above mediocre.
The quality of film and sound are okay and editing was also okay. But don't take it all that serious. Throughout the whole flick references are made to the classics. And the killings at a house done with Ave Maria as soundtrack, the blood smeared on the wall (Tenebrea anybody?), the photo-flash sound of Texas Chainsaw Massacre...do I need to say more.
If you can stand the silly conversations then you're in for a good treat.
