This isn't just about the art - it's about the serial murder investigation the police blew.

The Exhibition is a very skillfully woven story about the Canadian serial killer Robert "Willy" Pickton (who will most certainly die in prison), his victims (all prostitutes from Vancouver's notorious Downtown East Side), the friends, family, and social workers who cared for and about them, the botching of the investigation by combined police forces over many years, and a painter obsessed with honouring them. Oh - and the backlash against her work.

It's dirty and sad and complicated and tragic, and really must be seen to appreciate its depth.
