Right before Han and Finn discuss the plan to find Rey, a squad of Stormtroopers walk by. As they walk by, one says, "We think they may be splitting up". This is a reference to a squad of Stormtroopers from Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977), who say the exact same thing. See more »
When Rey reaches the top of the ridge and shouts at Teedo, we see there are no footprints in the sand between her and Teedo, so when Rey rushes to BB-8 her lone set of footprints are the only ones behind her in the sand. When Rey walks away from BB-8 telling him "No," there are many more footprints in the sand between her and the droid, even though there should only be the two sets of Rey's footprints - from both coming and going. This will begin to make things right. I've traveled too far and seen too much to ignore the despair in the galaxy. Without the Jedi, there can be no balance in the Force.

I consider myself an average Star Wars fan. I have watched all the films several times and sometimes at the cinema too.
At the end of episode Vi the rebels win and the good side is restored to power. Here we find out that they are a desperate ragtag bunch reminiscent of episode IV. Did I miss a movie? It cannot be because there are no whole integers between 6 and 7. What is going on? Could it be that the new director or writer have never watched Star Wars films before?
Finally, who would make a death star with the same design flaw as before? The time and money spent on remaking something with the same problem makes it improbable. What is going on?
