When full moon rises above a small town, Didi Tasson, 17, makes love to her boyfriend for the first time. The boy dies. The next morning Didi meets two incredible women, Kati Ordana and Nadia Rapaccini. They tell Didi she is a nymph. Didi had to learn her new rules and norms quickly, and she has to leave her family, friends and home behind. Things don't get any easier when Didi falls madly in love with an ordinary mortal, Samuel Koski. I thoroughly enjoyed this series (season 1). It is full of beautiful images, flowers, senses, feelings, symbolism and mythology. The cast and crew has managed to illustrate and weave some of our most basic human senses into a story of ancient myth in a modern era.
It is a very heterosexual film, as sex scenes are only between male and female. However, the warmth and solidarity between many the female characters is beautiful, soothing and empowering to watch. Overall, the relationships between all the characters are dynamic and fluid; each character very much standing on their own.
Looking forward to more coming from the Fisher King Production team.
