    Storyline

    Edit
During the annual major science fiction convention, Nebula 9 - super-fan Audrey O'Neill, who finally organized a life performance starring the short-lived series' original cast as well after decade of 'webipsodes' with a nerd couple, is found dead on set, killed with a real 'space laser' (of which only two working ones were custom-made). Castle, who thinks he has better taste, is amused to find Becket was part of a college fan group. The team works out various personal, career and business motives as well as opportunities for cast and crew. —KGF Vissers

    • Trivia
When Castle first hears that the crime scene is the Nebula-9 ship, he starts bashing the show and says "I'm a fan of good sci-fi. Star Trek, Battlestar, that Joss Whedon show!" 'That Joss Whedon show' was Firefly where Nathan Fillion played Captain Malcolm 'Mal' Reynolds.
    • Goofs
The warehouse door is open to about mid-calf level, but when Castle and Becket emerge inside after crawling under it, the door is now open to knee level.
    • Quotes

Richard Castle: What are you doing here?

Kate Beckett: You'd know if you'd answer your phone.

Richard Castle: Listen, if you want your very own signed copy of "Storm Season", I'd be happy to arrange a private signing.

Kate Beckett: Cap your pen, Castle. There's been a murder here.

      Richard Castle: Here at SuperNovaCon?

      Kate Beckett: Mmm-hmm.

      Richard Castle: Shiny.

    Castle References to Firefly
Did you know? When Caste is first belittling the "Nebula 9" series to Beckett, he contrasts it to good sci-fi shows, "Star Trek, Battlestar, that Joss Whedon show. . .". Joss Whedon was the screenwritter and creator of the 2002-03 TV sci-fi series, Firefly, in which Nathan Fillion also starred. This one of at least 3 references, probably more, which Castle makes in various episodes to the Firefly series. Another is when he dresses up as a space cowboy for Halloween, and Molly Quinn tells him the costume is so 6 years ago. The third reference I know of is when he unexpectedly speaks Chinese. When Beckett asks how he learned Chinese, Castle explains it was from some TV show he used to like.
