Freeform’s ‘Party of Five’ Reboot Casts Its Leads
Freeform has found its leads for the network’s “Party of Five” reboot pilot.

Brandon Larracuente, Emily Tosta, Niko Guardado and Elle Paris Legaspi have been cast as the Buendía siblings Emilio, Lucia, Beto and Valentina, respectively. In a reimagining of the original series, the new show will focus on the siblings as they struggle to survive as a family after their parents are deported to Mexico. Freeform gave the project a pilot order back in September.

Larracuente has been cast as Emilio Buendía, an aspiring musician and the oldest son of Gloria and Javier Buendía. Emilio is the reason his parents crossed the Mexican border into the United States nearly twenty-five years ago in hopes of a better life. Although the oldest, he’s the least responsible of the siblings, and had been enjoying living away from home and the freedom that came with it until his parents’ status was threatened.

The Last Ship Season 5 Episode 7 Review: Somos la Sangre

It was another step forward that proved to be a step back.

It was a hollow victory for the U.S. and its Cuban allies on The Last Ship Season 5 Episode 7.

All Tom and company had to show for the bloody battle for Camp X was an exact model of Southern Command. Now we have to wait until The Last Ship Season 5 Episode 8 to find out who is dead beside General Kinkaid (no great loss there).

It's hard to believe that one piece of Southern white trash continues to be Tavo's secret weapon.

One thing I've found offputting about this season is how events have been skipping ahead. I understand that advances during war happen incrementally, which is death in a fast-paced medium such as television.

I also get there are only 10 episodes into which to cram a whole war.

The Last Ship Season 5 Episode 6 Review: Air Drop

  • TVfanatic
This was one of those transitional episodes, where we checked in on everyone, but not a lot resulted from that.

After an episode in drydock, the Nathan James got back in the fight on The Last Ship Season 5 Episode 6.

Well, it tried to, anyway. But somehow it lost track on an Iowa-class warship. I'm still not sure how, but I guess that's a story for another episode.

So, what did we learn? This episode drove home the point that Tom is invulnerable and that Tavo has gone mad, seeing enemies around every corner.

Make no mistake. Tom is running this war, although he's good enough to run his plans by the President and the Joint Chiefs, mainly out of courtesy.

But all he has to say is that he feels something in his gut, and the rest will go along with his plans. Well, he has triumphed over every worldwide crisis in recent years,

50 Cent’s Isaac Wright Drama Series in Development at ABC

  • Variety
50 Cent’s planned TV series based on the life if Isaac Wright Jr. is in development at ABC, Variety has learned.

The untitled series would tell the story of Wright, who was wrongfully convicted as the kingpin behind one of the largest drug distribution networks in New Jersey. He now practices law in the same courtroom where he was sentenced to life behind bars. In prison, Wright studied the law and worked as a proxy-lawyer, writing briefs and motions that judges said were better crafted than Harvard law scholars, to overturn the convictions of over 20 fellow inmates and ultimately to exonerate himself. He now works as a lawyer defending the wrongly accused and going after corrupt institutions.

50 Cent, a.k.a Curtis Jackson, will executive produce via his G-Unit Film & Television, Inc banner along with Wright, Doug Robinson, and Alison Greenspan. Hank Steinberg is the writer and executive producer on the project.

The Last Ship Season 5 Episode 5 Review: Warriors

  • TVfanatic
Finally, they're acting instead of reacting.

A U.S. military mission worked somewhat as planned on The Last Ship Season 5 Episode 5.

As expected, the action jumped ahead three months this episode. Or rather the inaction.

First off, Alisha Granderson was indeed murdered, as somehow that stick figure she lived with got the jump on a fully trained Naval officer. I figured killing off Doc Rios and Captain Garnett on The Last Ship Season 5 Episode 1 would be enough bloodletting for this season, but apparently not.

Kelsey is somewhat on the Navy's radar right now, as a guilt-plagued Clayton is trying to track her, but with everything else going on, I can't imagine she's much of a priority. Nor can I imagine she would have much intel to offer, even if she got caught.

The war against Tavo's force was basically in a holding pattern at the Tropic of Cancer line. But

The Last Ship Season 5 Episode 4 Review: Tropic of Cancer

  • TVfanatic
It was not a good day for the home team.

The U.S. military, in the form of the Nathan James, definitely suffered a setback on The Last Ship Season 5 Episode 4.

After the sneak attack on The Last Ship Season 5 Episode 1, things had been going better for the U.S. military. Tavo lost a warship on The Last Ship Season 5 Episode 2 and his air force on The Last Ship Season 5 Episode 3.

Of course, that couldn't last, or it was going to be an awfully short season. Even for cable.

The bulk of the episode was spent on Tom's plan to mine the Yucatan Straits to pick off Tavo's fleet.

And his plan worked, for a time. Something just seemed off, however.

The Arrowverse Casts An Important DC Character For The Elseworlds Crossover

For several years now, the Arrowverse certainly hasn’t been shy when it comes to fleshing out the Multiverse. In fact, last year’s crossover event, “Crisis on Earth-x,” really took that concept to new heights. But now that we know of how this fall’s offering has been dubbed “Elseworlds,” it’s expected that a wealth of new storytelling possibilities will open up.

So, if you required something else assuring you how grand in scale this three-night special will be, it’s worth knowing that Lamonica Garrett has been cast as Mar Novu Aka The Monitor. Readers of DC comic books will instantly recognize this character as part of a race of beings who oversee the Multiverse as a whole, so you’d better believe that his involvement is a pretty big deal.

Right now, all that’s known about this “extraterrestrial being of infinite power” is that, according to Variety,
