Ignacio must move from Puerto Rico to the continental US; this means leaving his best friends behind. Heading Nowhere, presents us with a compassionate point of view of the desolated world of contemporary Puerto Rican youth in a country without hope.
The day before moving to the US, Ignacio ditches school with his friend Arturo. They routinely listen to punk music, and pass out at Lara's house, where Lara joins them. As the day progresses, they meet up with their stoner friend Rafa and eat 'magic' brownies; all the while, Ignacio is unable to confess his love to Lara. When Ignacio finally leaves, he sees Puerto Rico from a distance leaving his friends and 'unresolved' issues behind, while Lara remains unable to escape her own problems.Written by
