The return of a powerful, legendary monster forces together an unlikely duo who must save the town in which they live from total destruction.

Many centuries ago, the land was ripped apart by war. But this was a time of sorcery, and so to stop the bloodshed one wizard created a superweapon - a monster of vast strength and power - to end the fighting. But this creation broke free from the wizard's control and ravaged the armies of both sides. A hero, Malina, tracked the beast to its lair and - after a fierce battle - trapped its soul inside an enchanted sword. She hid the sword deep within a cave in the woods nearby - safe from disturbance.

And that's how it stayed for generations. Until today.

In the modern day, a thief is pursuing his latest mark in the sleepy town of Anghenfil. Unbeknownst to him, it is in fact a police officer and his unsuccessful pickpocketing attempt leads to a chase into the nearby woods. The thief bursts into the cave and stumbles down a previously undiscovered passage. Far below the ground, in caverns that haven't been seen by human eyes for centuries, he unearths the mythical sword and reawakens the monster. His screams reverberate down the cavern walls as the monster claims his first new victim.

In a different section of the forest, Pete and Jessica are two surveyors working on a new housing development. They're an unlikely pair - Jessica bores him with stories of conspiracies and legends, while Pete methodically works through their tasks for the day. Little do they know - this will be the strangest day of their lives.

The monster emerges from the cave for the first time in centuries and stumbles off into the forest - the mythical sword dragging behind it. It's not long before reports start coming in of strange things being discovered nearby. Walkers coming over patches of destroyed trees and earth. Dogs that run off into the undergrowth and never return. Soon, an ominous stream of social media posts filter out from the town - half-glimpses of a large presence roaming the streets. It's biding its time - not strong enough to fight alone - but with every new kill it grows in power.

While moving to another section of the forest to survey, Jessica makes a discovery. Inhuman footsteps in the dirt - leading out of the forest and towards the town of Anghenfil. She must convince a skeptical Pete of the truth of the legend, as it'll take both their unique skills to bring this monster down.

A few hours later, the beast stalks through the town and the residents board up doors and windows against this unknown menace. The town gets locked down and the army is called in - thinking it a wild animal and unaware of the true danger. Pete and Jessica are the only ones who know the truth, and must dodge through the dangerous streets before this now-powerful beast can break out beyond the town and threaten the wider world.
