Armed with a license to kill, Secret Agent James Bond sets out on his first mission as 007, and must defeat a private banker to terrorists in a high stakes game of poker at Casino Royale, Montenegro, but things are not what they seem.
A cryptic message from the past sends James Bond on a rogue mission to Mexico City and eventually Rome, where he meets Lucia, the beautiful and forbidden widow of an infamous criminal. Bond infiltrates a secret meeting and uncovers the existence of the sinister organisation known as SPECTRE. Meanwhile back in London, Max Denbigh, the new head of the Centre of National Security, questions Bond's actions and challenges the relevance of MI6 led by M. Bond covertly enlists Moneypenny and Q to help him seek out Madeleine Swann, the daughter of his old nemesis Mr White, who may hold the clue to untangling the web of SPECTRE. As the daughter of the assassin, she understands Bond in a way most others cannot. As Bond ventures towards the heart of SPECTRE, he learns a chilling connection between himself and the enemy he seeks.
A clip in one of the trailers shows James Bond walking through MI6, with people stopping and looking at him, was cut from the final film. It would have also featured Bond noticing a camera, and asking C about watching his own Agents. One of the trailers also shows Miss Eve Moneypenny saying to Bond, at his apartment, that forensics have recovered some items from Skyfall. In the finished film, Miss Moneypenny says the "forensics have discovered some items from Skyfall" line of dialogue to Bond in the MI6 courtyard, and not at his apartment. See more »
The license plates of the Land Rovers used in the car chase scene are entirely wrong. Not only do they bear the area code IL for Innsbruck-Land (the surrounding area of Innsbruck, the provincial capital of Tyrol) and next to it, inappropriately, the city arms of Vienna which is the federal capital of Austria. Every Tyrolean license plate, however, shows the emblem of Tyrol, a red eagle. Also, the registration numbers are too long. Registration numbers like "IL-62734Z", "IL-48256R" or "IL-25768H" can be seen on the Land Rovers. But after a two letter area code like IL, always a maximum of four numeral characters may follow, closed by one letter. Alternatively three numbers and two letters may follow the area code and the provincial coat of arms. See more »
Worst Bond Movie ever... how do they fill 2.5 hours with Nothing!
This is truly truly awful... now at the outset I have to say Im a HUGE BOND FAN... I cannot believe how dull this movie was... both Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes both must have 007 Fatigue as they both 'phone this in' I know when writing reviews you have to be careful not to add spoilers.. but guess what, there aren't any.. as nothing happens for 2.5 hours... just lots of overly long scenes of people talking or walking down hallways or driving in the desert... God only knows what they spent the $250 million on.. maybe a really good catering truck... Id like to go into depth of how dull this is, but Im too sleepy... . Where do I line up to get those 2.5 hours of my life back... the only thing I can say is that this movie makes Quantum of Solace look REALLY good....
