The anime does a good job of portraying the complex emotions of bullying and friendship. Nishimura is understandably withdrawn and self-doubting, but Takada's kindness and patience slowly help her to open up. The two of them form a genuine bond, and they learn to rely on each other for support.
The anime is also funny and charming. Takada's cluelessness is often played for laughs, but it also serves to highlight his good heart. And Nishimura's gradual transformation from a gloomy girl to a happy and confident one is heartwarming to watch.
Overall, My Clueless First Friend is a sweet and heartwarming anime that will leave you feeling good. It's a story about the power of friendship and the importance of believing in yourself. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys heartwarming anime about friendship.

This anime lost it's magic after a while, if I'm being honest. I actually liked the 1st half. It was very wholesome and there was in fact some slow progression of the main characters. But it just didn't evolve anymore. It continued the same gimmick between these 2 characters and just lost its taste towards the end.
Now, these 2 characters, I'm guessing are probably just in the 4th or 5th grade. So, obviously I shouldn't expect any development of any of these characters individually. But take "The Sleepy Princess in The Demon Castle" for example. That anime had a very simple premise. It just had one trait of the main character upon which it built the series. It could have easily gone stale after a while. But it didn't (at least for me). That's because the writer kept adding something new between those characters. Things like how the demons were used to the princess, they started unconsciously taking care of her, and how the princess herself was somewhat unpredictable. So you can make your story entertaining even if you have a very simple premise. It'll need some work though. This story though, didn't try to do that. I thought they could've introduced some fun or wholesome things with the side characters.
And even if he's just a kid, Takada's character just got a bit annoying after a while. He's supposed to be clueless, yes, but this much? The way he talked to Akane, it was just sort of weird after a while, especially towards the end. Initially though, I really liked how Akane's character changed a bit. Similarly, Takada was understanding Akane's struggles bit by bit. But that just stopped after a while.
I don't know, after a point, this anime just got too repetitive for me. It's okay in the end I guess. Because there are definitely some wholesome moments. And the setup of Akane's character is in fact, very sweet. You can watch it when you're tired and you want to watch a simple wholesome anime. But it'll be hard to finish after some point.
I found this series to be rather fun is a really charming way. The central characters are great. Akane accepting what life throws at her and Takada being an innocent who doesn't even realise the other class members are saying things to Akane to be mean. The character designs nicely suit the characters and the animation is good. The characters develop nicely as the series progresses. Overall a delightful slice of life series that I'd recommend to fans of the genre.
