Captain Cragen in a jackpot
17 February 2015 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

Continuing on from the previous episode that pillar of integrity and virtue Dann Florek, the captain of the SVU squad is now being held for murder as he's found in a hotel room with a dead hooker. Florek has no memory at all of what happened and the vultures are circling.

It's all part of the whore war going on between Brooke Smith and Peter Jacobson, a pair with some high class Mayflower Madam type working girls. The dead woman used to work for Smith and now works for Jacobson. In fact bodies are dropping all over the place as the squad now looks to solve both the original murder and help out their boss without risking the wrath of 1 Police Plaza and the District Attorney.

In fact the Police Commissioner had to resign and the investigation is now being run out of the DA's office by Paget Brewster. She and Mariska Hargitay develop a hesitant but working alliance.

Threatening to gum it all up is Danny Pino. He's reminiscent of Elliott Stabler in earlier days. That sock on the jaw from Dean Winters from the previous episode has left him with a bad attitude in general and to Winters in particular. He was also indiscreet with one of the witnesses and that's put his marriage in jeopardy.

In fact the story doesn't conclude, we are left with the conclusion to follow and Pino about to do something stupid.
