Storyline

When Steve is released from prison, he is unable to connect with his girlfriend, as he is still haunted by his relationship with a fellow inmate. Taking a 'meals-on-wheels' job, he meets Rod, a wildly irrepressible older man, who is the full time carer for his invalid mother who, when not confined to a wheelchair, gets about on her modified ride-on lawn mower. Steve is captivated by the older pair's extravagant world of make-believe and a close friendship between the men develops. Written by Michael Winchester

User Reviews

I loved this film, it surprised me with its twists and kept me guessing.

I love a good Aussie movies that make me laugh, cry and think about the big picture. That's exactly what Bathing Franky does. I bought the DVD and have been sharing it around with the explicit instructions that there is no pirating. The Hunter Valley is an amazing back drop and makes me want to visit. Highlighting the issues of carers and the cared for is such an important social issue. Bathing Franky makes you sit back and think about what is important to you and your loved ones. A must watch for those that want to see the inner workings of what happens to those family members requiring around the clock care. I would highly recommend this film to all.
