After piecing together the videos of Walter's plan Olivia, Peter, Walter and Etta head to rural Pennsylvania to retrieve essential materials for the plan. There they encounter a group of archivists who may be able to help with some local obstacles. Written by David Foss
Peter, Olivia, Walter and Etta head in a van to a coordinate in Northern Pennsylvania as per Walter's instruction in a videotape. Meanwhile Astrid stays in the laboratory in Harvard trying to fix the tape. They meet Edwin Massey and his group that record history in a computerized file system for the next generations. Astrid succeeds to understand the rest of the video and informs that they should find a mine and get some rocks that are necessary to generate energy power. But the problem is, the mine would kill whoever try to reach the lower level since its atmosphere calcifies the human body. Further, Etta receives a phone call from the resistance telling that The Observers are approaching to the location based on an information from a loyalist that tracked them down. What will the group do?
"The Recordist" is another great episode of "Fringe" with an emotional story. The situation of the historians trying to preserve the true human history is sad, and the conclusion with Edwin's sacrifice is touching. My vote is eight.
