Vincent is furious that pushy Cat selfishly keeps searching for her mother's killer, without any regard for others thus being in grave danger from Muirfield. After she 'borrows' a photograph of his late military comrades and puts Muirfield on their trace, they hack to destroy her precinct computer hard-drive and Vince moves out of JT's place so she can't find him at will. Cat examines the fatal fall from the theater of a ballerina. Evan finds it's not suicide and traces of a cat fight, but no DNA. First suspects are her missing boyfriend, apparently passed-over understudy and a mystery stalker, who must be on staff, but some of those tie up. Vince reemerges to save Cat from a Muirfield-hired hit-man.
