Did You Know?

Director Evan Marlowe wanted to depict in each short how their lives were being turned upside down. To illustrate this, he literally showed them upside down. In "Never Let Go" Sarah's photo is upside down on the front door. In "Be Careful What You Wish For," the image is inverted in the crystal ball. In "Hot Stuff" Andy's reflection appears upside down in the vanity mirror. In "Lifelike" Helen is lying in bed and on the sofa head down. And in "The Leapling" Ben's reading his storybook, also head down. See more »

Horror House: Badly flawed anthology
28 June 2018 | by PlatypuschowSee all my reviews

I like horror anthology movies and over the years we've seen some fantastic ones from Creepshow (1982) to Trick R Treat (2007) but the main struggle they have is they can only be as good as their weakest tale.

Horror House has a wrap around (Like they usually do) sadly it features Lloyd Kaufman and I still to this day consider the man a festering boil on the rear end of the industry.

The stories are hit and miss but sadly more the latter, I'd summarize but even the good ones wouldn't translate very well.

They range from good all the way down to terrible and for that reason this certainly isn't one I'd recommend to anyone.

Not scary, not original and certainly don't expect even the slightest degree of humour.

From the cover art you can immediatly tell that this was never going to be anything special and in thinking that you'd be right. A knife, some blood and a pair of boobs does not equate to a good advertisement for a movie. Not the worst, but it isn't worth wading through the garbage for the moments of passable entertainment.

The Good:

Couple of the stories are passable

The Bad:

Lloyd Kaufman

Lame cover art

Most of the stories are really quite dire

Things I Learnt From This Movie:

Don't have kids

Don't have dolls

Don't watch anything featuring Lloyd Kaufman!
