MPAA Rated PG for some rude and suggestive humor.

Sex & Nudity

  • A gnome named Mankini wears a tight, red mankini.
  • A guy with pants pulled down jumps off a toilet, but although he gives an awkward look at the camera, you can't see any sensitive parts.

Violence & Gore

  • Some fight sequences, all mild in nature.

  • In one scene, Gnomeo says, "No ship, Sherlock" (an obvious stand-in for the word "shit"),
  • Some 'plays on words' ("What the fertilizer?") and sentences that trail off ("What a complete and utter...") which elude to mild profanity, but never come close to being so.
  • 1 use of "oh my god!" (Played for laughs)

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Various action, fight and hunt sequences
  • Some threatening sequences, including the threat of various gnomes being 'smashed'.

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • The implication that some gnomes have been 'smashed.' This usually turns out not to have been the case later, however.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Around the middle of the movie, we are made to believe one of the main characters has fallen to his death. We later learn he's alive and has been leading the villainous operation, which not long after is revealed to be a cover up story for the villain so he could move the gnomes to the place where he's going to crush them all
