Big Fun on a Small Budget
Authentic Productions has done it again! This comedy by writer/director Daniel Geffre follows a reporter (also played by Geffre) on a quest to find the truth to the question "Is Blake A Douche?".
On the quest for the answer to this question, we meet plenty of great characters who present their personal experiences to weigh in on the subject. From a past lover, to a former friend, to Blake's cousin, and plenty of characters in between, everyone seems to have an opinion on the subject.
The premise of the film is a good one, and the acting, for the most part, is far above what you would expect to see in a film of this budget. Geffre compels us to laugh with a simple confused look at the camera, and almost all of the characters are funny and strange.
Authentic Productions, makers of the wonderful short film "S.O.L.", continues to find ways to give us wonderful films on a shoestring budget. This film, along with four other short films, was presented at a One-Night Only event in Tucson, AZ, where it screened for the first time at the Grand Cinemas Crossroads 6 Theater to a sold out audience.
Following the success of their wonderful short film "S.O.L.", Authentic Productions is poised to be the next independent film company to take it to the next level. I, for one, will be watching them closely and cannot wait for their first collaboration with Steven Spielberg.
