Storyline

In March 2012, video game legend Tim Schafer made history with the Double Fine Adventure Kickstarter, a crowdfunding campaign that changed the way games are created and funded forever. For three years, a documentary crew captured the once-secretive process of video game development, chronicling the creation of "Broken Age" from an idea to a finished game and beyond. Along the way, Schafer and his team at Double Fine persevered through production delays, internal strife, financial crises, looming deadlines, sickness, layoffs, and the weighty expectations of a critical public. Featuring a cast of memorable personalities and accessible explanations on the process of game design, the Double Fine Adventure is an entertaining glimpse into a fascinating and shockingly misunderstood industry.

In this captivating documentary series that follows the Double Fine game company from before the beginning of their Kickstarter project launch till the shipping of the game developed through it and beyond you will experience comedy, drama, love, and education.

No other company has ever let a film team get so intimate and behind the scenes. You will see learn the ins and outs of how a game company brings ideas from brain pattern to reality you get to play. You will gain appreciation for how hard it is. You will see the politics of a business frill with intrigue, news making and trends. Double Fine was there in the middle of multiple happenings during production. The advent of Kickstarter becoming a true place for people to bring projects alive, the craziness that was Gamergate, the problems of keeping a company open in a crippling economy.

2Player Productions had the enviable task of making all of into a cohesive, enjoyable show that had something for everyone. It truly does at that. You don't need to care about video games to learn about the colorful cast of characters at a company pouring their lives into their passion while struggling the tight line of work and fun. The creative world is fraught with more then just developing content but pleasing fans, haters and more equally.

Throughout the 20plus episode series you'll experience the highs, the lows, the in betweens and in the end feel something. Feeling something is all you ever want.
