Chef d'oeuvre

Wow! what an episode.

From the first episode of the season, the show has painted Nucky as power-hungry, well positioned and even invincible. 'Till this episode, the writers made us believe that Nucky's reign over Atlantic city was resolute. But soon after Gyp, the mercurial and ruthless Sicilian, and his army step a foot to Atlantic city, the town turns into a shambles.

For the first time Nucky has his back to the wall and has been forced to rely on someone besides his usual entourage. Yes, I am talking about Chalky White (the underdog! remember Nucky's refusal). Chalky has an essential pivotal role on this episode, with which he does wonders.

But the most memorable scene in it for me was of course the ending. When all is lost the rising star of Chicago comes to town to save the day!

Can't wait to see the season finale.

Warning: Spoilers
One of the best episodes of the show, full of hooking moments and with a strong finale.

This was an episode we all wanted to see: Nucky's being quit of the throne, and in the process Eddie was hurt. I like the relation between Nucky and Eddie, the second was a good helper and more a friend than everyone. I like the way Nucky figured out how vital is Eddie for him.

I enjoyed every moment of Nucky and Chalky together too. I like the chemistry between Steve Buscemi and Michael Kenneth Williams, it feels real.

The bests moments comes with Rosetti and his occurrences, Bobby Cannavale did an amazing job too.

+ The end.

+ Future war.

+ Alliances.

+ Direction and script.

+ Characters's relations.

+ Luciano's being caught.

A fantastic Episode. These last two episodes were tremendous, two of the best of the whole show and def the two best of the season. If they have a major bang in the last Episode, Im naming season 3 as my favorite. Its already way better than the 2nd season.

Great job by the Writers. I think they have finally found the tone of the show. Let that Oh-Margarete-gave-my-money-to-the-church and Margarete-has-sth-with-Owen and oh-Im-so-depressed Nonsense be and focus on the Gangster stuff.

The scenes with Maseria are always great, Gyp has given this show real life and we finally see Chulky play a major role. This last Episode is gonna be awesome, Im telling you. Nucky with Eli teaming up with Chulky and Capone ..... and probably with a little help from the "Tinman" against some crazy Italians. This must be good.

All I can say is wow. Wow, wow, wow. This has to be my favorite episode of season 3, and maybe even the whole series thus far. It is exciting from start to finish. I did not think they could have topped the last episode which ended with that incredible "4am delivery" scene, but "Two Imposters" packs a punch. A Margaret-less Nucky barely fights off Gyp's army in his own Ritz hotel suite and then fortunately finds shelter, albeit temporary, at Chalky White headquarters. His survival is made complicated by his trusted assistant Eddie's gunshot wound, but thank god for sharp, intelligent only-a-medical-student "Master" Samuel. A few standoffs later, Nucky is driven to a different location, which is surprisingly still in Atlantic City. He explains it is his town and he's not going anywhere. Finally, Al Capone and friends arrive so 'Nuck and Al can get some chow and discuss "who's going to die". All of this great writing is paralleled with another compelling side story: the newly in love Richard Harrow plots to rescue Tommy from Gillian and her gangster filled whorehouse. Bobby Cannavale (Gyp) has given tremendous intensity and light to this season and made the Gyp-Nucky rivalry so worth watching. The writers have set us up for one hell of a finale with this ep-I cannot wait!

Brilliant!

There are handful brilliant directors out there. Boardwalk Empire has two aboard its "ship". Allen Coulter is surely one of them. This episode in particular is a true testament to his unique skill, talent, ability. Every single setup is top to bottom brilliant, with perfect A-plus performances. This season had a very tough job - matching what had been established in season one and season two is no easy task. It took a little time to find its own stride. But once found, the season went ahead with remarkable strength. This episode "Two Imposters" is one of the series all time best. Again, kudos to Allen Coulter, who, along with Tim Van Patten (a brilliant director in his own right), are bringing this HBO's gem to new heights. Bravo!!

Warning: Spoilers
If the first half of the season was slow with a couple of dud episodes in the middle, the last two eps have more than made up for it and we're in for an amazing season finale. The tension has been ratcheted up masterfully and this really was a superb episode, up there with the very best of The Sopranos and Breaking Bad. The story beats were flawless and practically every scene was a winner, right up to the final scene, with Al Capone stepping forward grinning around a cigar

'we been on the road eighteen hours. I need a bath, some chow, and then you and me sit down, and talk about who dies.'

Its been a while since I've got this excited about a TV series, can't wait for the finale!

this series reminds me of the sopranos. Not every episode is going to be exciting, but you will get those episodes that make up for it. this last episode was the best and I got the feeling is getting real good from here. Al Capone in the last seconds was a classic, great acting. cant wait for the finale and next year. Luck showed he has a big heart by looking after his nephew at the end, and I believe chalky respects that from him, and that's why he has decided to ride with him to the end. Im guessing 2face well have a bigger role in the next season, great actor, Eli well probably be thompsons second in command. And lets not forget about George the crazy cop who I think well also play a big role next season.. Great job HBO

Gyp goes to Nucky's house seeing his men were killed and Nucky has escaped. Nucky goes to the hospital and has guns fired at him again as he tried to get help for Eddie. Richard walks into his office and finds Gillian looking at a picture of him with Julia. Nucky finally finds a place that can be save but he is unknown by the back. He is then brought inside to Chalky looking for protection. Gyp returns to Gillian's club brining Nucky's desk with him. Gillian then has to be nice towards Gyp because he has all the power not even if she wants to be. Chalky calls in a his son to try make Eddie better because he is a doctor. Lucky wants to accept to offer but he is told to let it go. Chalky's son starts to operate but out of no where Gyp comes looking for Chalky. It then turns into a standoff as guns from both sides face each other. When everyone feels safe all the guns are put down and Gyp talks face to face with Chalky. Nucky inside the house listens as Gyp knows that he is there. Gyp gets real close to the house but Chalky still does not let him in. When Gyp leaves Chalky comes in telling Nucky to watch out for his men. When Gillian is mad at the way her club is being run she has to say awful things to the people around her while she try's to keep the power. Gillian kicks Richard out of the club using Gyp's name to do it. Nucky try's to talk to Eddie but is unable to hear much of what he says. Chalky they comes to take him to safety. Lucky goes out on the rood to meet with the quiet man again getting the money in exchange for what he promised. The men Lucky was making deals with turned out to be police and the quiet one was more in charge then anyone. Nucky starts to lose it as he stays in this one area for such a long time, he is then woken up after being stopped . The men who stopped them were then killed for looking to far. Nucky then takes the opportunity to talk to Chalky alone telling him he will get Atlantic City back one way or the other. When all is safe the cavalry shows up to support Nucky in the fight against Gyp. It's Eli who made a deal with Al to get some help. Great episode visually and also Steve was good as well even though he seems to be good all the time.

EPISODE GRADE: A- (MVP: Michael K. Williams)
