Golden Globe spotlight: Zendaya deserves first nom for her searing breakthrough turn on ‘Euphoria’

After getting her start on Disney Channel’s “Shake It Up” (2010-13) and starring in several box office hits, such as “The Greatest Showman” (2017) and “Spider-Man: Homecoming” (2017) and its 2019 sequel “Far From Home,” Zendaya has now ventured into vastly different territory headlining HBO’s gritty teen drama “Euphoria,” which could earn her a Golden Globe nomination for Best TV Drama Actress.

Euphoria,” which aired this summer and has been renewed for a second season, follows 17-year-old Rue Bennett (Zendaya) who returns home from rehab in the pilot after a near fatal drug overdose in time to start her junior year of high school. Despite a cautiously optimistic mother, she has no intention whatsoever of staying clean. She struggles with what the future holds for her, but finds new hope thanks to her friendship/relationship with Jules (Hunter Schafer), the new girl in town. As the season dives deeper into a variety of topics,

Adopt a Highway Trailer: Ethan Hawke Finds a Baby in a Dumpster

  • MovieWeb
We have a brand new trailer for Adopt a Highway. The movie was recently acquired by Rlje Films for distribution and the company didn't waste any time in getting a trailer for this one online ahead of its release. After seeing the trailer, it's easy to see why, as this looks like a potential winner, with Oscar-nominee Ethan Hawke leading the way as a convict looking for redemption.

The trailer kicks off with Ethan Hawke getting out of prison. Like all people in his position, he's trying to make the best of it and earn a new lease on life. That proves to be easier said than done. Everything changes in a big way when he finds a baby abandoned in a dumpster, who he decides to care for instead of turning it over to the authorities. Things get emotional from there, both in a touching way and in a foreshadowing heartbreak sort of way.

Ethan Hawke Finds a Baby in First ‘Adopt a Highway’ Trailer

Ain't no party like a grizzled Ethan Hawke party 'cause a grizzled Ethan Hawke party is "emotionally complicated!" The veteran actor digs deep in the brand new trailer for Adopt a Highway, a somber redemption drama from first-time filmmaker Logan Marshall-Green, known as an actor in works like The Invitation and Spider-Man: Homecoming. Hawke, sporting long slicked back hair and a dusty goatee, plays a man recently released from prison after a long, likely unfair sentence. He struggles to adapt to a world he no longer recognizes, and struggles to figure out …

Zendaya Officially Returning As Mj For Spider-Man 3

It’s safe to say that we all knew this would be happening, but now it’s official: Zendaya will be reprising her role as Michelle “Mj” Jones in Spider-Man 3. The beloved character made her first onscreen appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming, where she took over as the head of the Decathlon team and eventually befriended Ned Leeds and Peter Parker.

Her friendship with the hero soon sprouted into a romance during their trip to Europe in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Michelle is one of the few people who know about her boyfriend’s alter ego, too, and as the franchise moves forward, fans are excited to get to watch their relationship continue to evolve. Given how things left off between them at the end of the last flick though, it’s anyone’s guess as to what will happen next.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige Adds Marvel Chief Creative Officer Title; He’ll Oversee All Creative & Story Initiatives

  • Deadline
Exclusive: A major structural shift is taking place at Marvel. As the brand looks to put even more of its stamp on The Walt Disney Company with the upcoming launch of Disney +, all of Marvel’s creative personnel is moving under Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. Deadline hears that Feige is adding the title of Chief Creative Officer, Marvel, to his title. What that means for the brand is that all the company’s key creative executives across film and TV will now report to him, sources said. Already master of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Feige’s oversight will extend to the overall creative direction of Marvel’s storytelling and content creation platforms. As part of this, Marvel TV and animation generator Marvel Family Entertainment will move under Feige’s Marvel Studios banner.

I’ve heard this move is being finalized this week, and it makes strong sense that

Every Marvel & Star Wars Movie Missing from Disney+ at Launch

  • MovieWeb
Disney+ won't launch with every Star Wars movie or everything in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The studio released a ridiculous list of every single title available on November 12th. Disney decided to individually tweet out all of these titles on Twitter, one at a time, in a massive thread, clogging up newsfeeds all over the world. But some McU and Star Wars fans noticed certain glaring omissions right of the bat. However, these fans won't have to worry too much longer, except for a few exceptions.

Let's start with the good news. Disney+ will launch with every theatrical Star Wars movie except for The Last Jedi and Solo: A Star Wars Story. Obviously, The Rise of Skywalker won't be available at launch either, but is expected to hit the streamer early in 2020. As for the reasoning behind this decision, Disney still has some titles under contract to Netflix, which is

Spider-Man 3 Will Feature Another Major Avenger

Marvel’s Spider-Man solo movies have always made the most of taking place in the McU. Obviously, Robert Downey Jr’.s Iron Man played a key mentor role in Spider-Man: Homecoming, with Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury (or at least his Skrull double) replacing him in Spider-Man: Far From Home. So, it’s been theorized for a while now that another familiar face from the franchise will turn up in Spider-Man 3 as well.

Speaking to our sources recently – the same ones who told us that the Endgame re-release post credits-scene featured the Hulk, Black Mask will be portrayed as gay in Birds of Prey and that the real Mandarin would be the villain in Shang-Chi, all of which we now know to be true – we’ve learned that “another major Avenger” will feature in Spider-Man 3. It’s not yet decided who it’ll be, but we’ve

Gwyneth Paltrow Reveals Why She Forgets What Marvel Movies She's Been In: 'It Is Confusing'

Gwyneth Paltrow Reveals Why She Forgets What Marvel Movies She's Been In: 'It Is Confusing'
Gwyneth Paltrow is opening up about why she can’t seem to keep track of all the Marvel films she’s been in.

The actress, 47, spoke to Elle magazine about the films, saying, “It is confusing because there are so many Marvel movies.”

The mother of two also admitted she hasn’t seen most of them.

“To be honest, I haven’t seen very many of them,” Paltrow said. “It’s really stupid and I’m sorry, but I’m a 47-year-old mother.”

Earlier this month, Paltrow said she hadn’t seen 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming despite appearing in it with Tom Holland,

Gwyneth Paltrow Explains Why She Forgets Which Marvel Movies She’s In

You’d think that being a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be something worth remembering. Well, as we all know, it isn’t that big of a deal to Gwyneth Paltrow, who’s been a part of the revolutionary franchise from the ground floor. And now, she’s finally explained why that is.

Earlier this summer, the 47-year-old actress made headlines when she revealed to Jon Favreau on his food series, The Chef Show, that she didn’t remember being in Spider-Man: Homecoming. And ever since, her astonishing amount of disinterest in the McU has continued to snowball.

Remember when Sebastian Stan – the Winter Soldier – said that he had to introduce himself to her (twice!)? Or when she forgot that Samuel L. Jackson was even a part of the cinematic universe? Yeah, it’s all pretty crazy.

But now, the Academy-Award winning actress has finally provided some explanation to her lack of memory.

Sony Developing Spider-Man Spinoff Movie For Scorpion

With Spider-Man sticking around the McU, Sony will be plowing ahead with its villain spinoff movies as before. However, given that it’s been announced that Tom Holland’s Peter Parker will be able to show up in these films now, it’s possible that it could work the other way around, as well. Meaning that Sony could make solo films for the villains previously used in Marvel Studios productions.

We’ve already told you that a movie for Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio is in the works at Sony, which would reveal that he faked his death in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Likewise, a standalone outing for Michael Keaton’s Vulture is also in the offering, presumably following on from Spider-Man: Homecoming. But that’s not all, as our sources – the same ones who told us a Nova movie was in active development, which has since been confirmed – say that

Paltrow started making headlines over the summer amongst comic book fans when she revealed to Jon Favreau that she had no idea they were in Spider-Man: Homecoming together. She has since revealed she hasn't seen Avengers: Endgame, she didn't know who Sebastian Stan is, and she didn't know Samuel L. Jackson was in the McU, even though they've been in the same movie more than once.

Gwyneth Paltrow has been involved in the McU since the beginning. She has appeared in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame, though she forgets sometimes. Sony Planning A Solo Movie For Michael Keaton’s Vulture

When it was announced Michael Keaton was going to play the villainous Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming, fans of the actor knew immediately the movie was going to be good. Better than it already was with Tom Holland’s Peter Parker saving the day. Keaton was so impressive in the role, in fact, that Sony is now planning a solo movie for the working class antihero.

Sources close to We Got This Covered – the same ones who told us this week that a Nova film was in active development, which McU Cosmic later confirmed – have revealed that Sony, amidst all the feuding and making up with Disney, has a solo outing planned for Adrian Toomes and his flying, tech-y alter ego, Vulture.

I know what you’re thinking; there’s no way, this is just a rumor, etc. But honestly, how could the studio not want this? Keaton brought that same

Could we finally be seeing The Sinister Six on the big screen in Spider-Man 3? That may very well be the case, if producer Amy Pascal is to be believed. Spider-Man: Far From Home recently made its way to home video and fans are picking apart the special features. On one of the featurettes, Pascal, who is one of the leading producers on the Sony side of the franchise, acknowledged that the pieces are in place for this villain team to be brought to fruition. Will that happen in Spider-Man 3? That depends on how much one wants to read into her comments. Here's what she had to say.

"These villains we now have in our universe happen to be characters that are in the Sinister Six. There may be something that happens with that."

Bob Iger Explains How Tom Holland Saved Spider-Man in the Marvel-Sony Partnership (Video)
It looks like Tom Holland is getting used to saving the day.

After the reported split between Disney and Sony that would’ve separated the Spider-Man franchise from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Disney CEO Bob Iger explained that it was Holland, Spider-Man himself, who helped the two companies come to a deal again.

Iger was a guest on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Thursday night talking about his new memoir “The Ride of a Lifetime,” and Jimmy Kimmel asked if it was true that Holland was responsible for getting Marvel and Sony to come together. Iger said that bringing Spider-Man back into the fold happened “miraculously,” and that Holland really was part of the conversation.

Gwyneth Paltrow Still Hasn’t Seen ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Even After Being Shamed By Jon Favreau

With the onslaught of dozens of Marvel and DC movies in the last decade, you can’t blame someone for having a little superhero fatigue. Even if that someone has appeared more than five superhero movies herself. That’s right, Gwyneth Paltrow, aka Pepper Potts, we’re looking at you.

As evidenced by his wildly uncomfortable interview with “Joker” star Joaquin Phoenix, Jimmy Kimmel is not one to let a deliciously awkward moment pass him by.

Gwyneth Paltrow Still Hasn't Seen Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thought It Was an Avengers Movie

Gwyneth Paltrow Still Hasn't Seen Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thought It Was an Avengers Movie
Gwyneth Paltrow admits she still hasn't seen Spider-Man: Homecoming. In addition, the Pepper Potts actress thought the standalone Peter Parker project was an "Avengers" movie. It was revealed earlier this year on Jon Favreau's Netflix series that Paltrow did not know she was in Homecoming. Favreau mentioned a scene that they shared and the actress said, "We weren't in Spider-Man," to which Favreau corrects her. "No, I was in Avengers," Paltrow stated. The news spread fast and Marvel Cinematic Universe fans weren't too happy about that piece of information.

Jimmy Kimmel decided to ask Gwyneth Paltrow about the whole situation. Since the Jon Favreau news spread, Paltrow hasn't really had the chance to talk about it publicly. Plus, the actress doesn't seem like she answers too many questions about the McU in general. She is genuinely confused about it, but sticks to her guns. When asked about the Favreau situation,

The 47-year-old actress admitted she’s never seen Spider-Man: Homecoming after revealing she didn’t know she made a cameo appearance as Pepper Potts.

“This is so embarrassing,” she said Wednesday night while on Jimmy Kimmel Live! after Kimmel, 51, reminded her that she hadn’t been aware of her cameo appearance.

Paltrow explained the situation, saying, “I just got confused. There’s so many of these wonderful Marvel, interconnecting movies and I thought it was an Avengers movie, but it was not.”
