A Girl and Her Robot Save The Day in Trailer For Netflix's New Animated Film Next Gen

"There's way too much injustice in the world… together we can fix it!"

Netflix has released the first trailer for a new animated sci-fi adventure film that they are releasing called Next Gen. The film tells the story of an "unlikely friendship between a rebellious girl and a runaway combat robot, as they unite to stop a madman's plan for technological world domination." The film is also described as being about the "bittersweet power of memories."

The movie comes from directors Kevin Adams and Joe Ksander and it looks pretty great! It kind of has a Big Hero 6 vibe to it but without the Disney flair.

The film also has a solid voice cast that includes Charlyne Yi, John Krasinski, David Cross, Michael Peña, Jason Sudeikis, and Constance Wu. The movie hits Netflix on September 7th. Check out the trailer and tell us what you think!

Geoff Johns discusses Robin’s “f*ck Batman” line from the Titans trailer

It had been rumoured that the live-action Teen Titans show would be going down the “hard-r” route, and that was confirmed this past weekend with the release of the first trailer for Titans at the San Diego Comic-Con International.

In addition to hard-hitting, bone-breaking action scenes, the trailer firmly set the tone for the series with Robin delivering the line “fuck Batman” as a group of thugs ask about the whereabouts of the Boy Wonder’s (former) partner before taking a brutal beatdown from the masked vigilante.

Speaking to Polygon, former DC chief creative officer and Titans executive producer Geoff Johns shared a few words on the line, and how it plays in to the character arc we can expect to see from Dick Grayson in the series.

“The trailer shows a piece of the tone of the show — the show’s not all that,” said Johns told. “But it does make you go,

All 34 of Stan Lee's Cheeky Cameos in Superhero Movies

Watching a Marvel movie is like a game of Where's Waldo these days, except instead of a bespectacled man in red and white stripes, you're on the lookout for a comic-book legend. That legend of course is Stan Lee, creator of some of our favorite superheroes and arguably one of Marvel's best easter eggs.

While Lee has made cameos in countless Marvel movies and TV series, as well as non-Marvel shows and films, his most memorable appearances are in Marvel live-action superhero movies dating back to the very first Hulk film in 1989. Here's every Lee cameo yet, with the exception of the Deadpool trailer, which, while hilarious, wasn't from the movie.

Also, fair warning: there are many Hulk and Spider-Man films on this list. Keep in mind Marvel's been through its fair share of Peter Parkers and Bruce Banners, and Lee has met them all.

‘Rick and Morty’ Gets First Emmy Nomination for ‘Pickle Rick’ Episode

‘Rick and Morty’ Gets First Emmy Nomination for ‘Pickle Rick’ Episode
There is an episode of TV from 2017 that featured a sentient briny vegetable battling an army of sewer rodents, bringing about the destruction of a shadowy agency, and manages to do it all before a scheduled family therapy session. And it just got nominated for an Emmy.

Rick and Morty” picked up a nomination for Outstanding Animated Program for the first time in the show’s history on Thursday morning, after submitting “Pickle Rick” as the standout episode of Season 3. (The truly bonkers “The Ricklantis Mixup” would have been another strong contender.) A bevy of deserving shows ended up getting completely passed over on the 2018 nominees list, but at least a half-hour adventure where the pickled form of a dimension-hopping scientist squares off against a vicious assassin voiced by Danny Trejo made the cut.

No one from the series’ voice cast (including series co-creator Justin Roiland) received recognition from the Academy,

Rumour: Seamus Dever portraying Trigon in Titans

Back in January of this year it was rumoured that DC’s live-action Teen Titans series Titans would feature Trigon as its big bad, and now FandomWire is reporting that Seamus Dever (Castle) is portraying the demonic villain.

Dever was cast in the show earlier this year, and while his role was kept under wraps, speculation did suggest that he’d be playing a villain.

If you’re unfamiliar with Trigon, the character is an interdimensional demon and one of the most powerful beings in the DC Universe, who also happens to be the father of the Teen Titans member Raven (played by Teagan Croft).

It certainly wouldn’t be a surprise if Trigon does feature in the show, given that his connection to Raven was highlighted in her official character description where she was referenced as “the daughter of a demon”.

Rumour: Teen Titans series Titans is R-rated and “no holds barred”

Earlier this week DC Entertainment officially announced the upcoming launch of its DC Universe streaming service, with a live-action Teen Titans series entitled Titans set to serve as the flagship show of the new venture.

As we await news of an official premiere date for Titans, Splash Report has posted an alleged breakdown / review of the pilot episode of the show, which it says is “very much not a series for children”.

Apparently, “there are multiple f-bombs and s-bombs, among other swear-words that make it seem like they’re going for an R-rating. Moreover, the action is brutal, with bone snaps, people being shot, burned, and mangled. It’s refreshing to see a DC show that’s no-holds-barred instead of shying away from the more mature aspects of the mythology.”

As for the pilot itself, the site provides the following breakdown:

The pilot of Titans is centered on three heroes,

‘Kingdom Hearts’ Tetsuya Nomura Worked Hard to Bring You Those Pixar Levels
It’s been five years since Square Enix and game director Tetsuya Nomura announced “Kingdom Hearts 3.” While the man behind the blend of Square Enix and Disney magic says his perspective on the game hasn’t wavered, he’s also been one step ahead of players since the beginning.

While Nomura didn’t have the entire series planned out, he was always looking ahead to the next chapter in what has become a sprawling saga. So while he didn’t necessarily know where the path would lead Sora, Riku, and friends at the start, he’s always planning.

“When I was developing ‘Kingdom Hearts 1’, I already had in mind what I wanted to do with the next titles, ‘Chain of Memories’ and ‘Kingdom Hearts 2′” Nomura says. “While we were in development of ‘Chain of Memories’ and ‘Kingdom Hearts 2,’ I was already thinking of story lines for ‘Coded,’ ‘358/2 Days,’ and ‘Birth by Sleep.

The bundle includes “Kingdom Hearts III” along with “Kingdom Hearts I.5 and II.5 Remix” and “Kingdom Hearts II.8 Final Chapter Prologue.” So, it’ll be a good way to catch up on the series’ notoriously confusing story before diving into the latest title.

Publisher Square Enix debuted a new “Kingdom Hearts III” trailer Sunday during Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference, revealing that Disney’s “Frozen” is also coming to the action-rpg. Characters and locales from “Winnie the Pooh,” “Aladdin,” “The Little Mermaid, “Toy Story,” and “Big Hero 6” will appear as well.

Q&A: Joe Casey on His Head-Banging Heroes in New Lieutenants Of Metal

Next month, Joe Casey and Ulises Farinas unleash their kick-ass, head-banging heroes on the world in New Lieutenants of Metal #1 from the Man of Action imprint at Image Comics. Ahead of the first issue release, I caught up with Joe Casey to talk about what we can expect from the new series, teaming up with Ulises Farinas, and being in a metal state of mind. We also have preview pages from the first issue!

Q: How did you come up with the idea of New Lieutenants of Metal and what can our readers expect from the new series?

Joe Casey: Believe it or not, the idea was delivered to me by a man on a flaming pie (as these things often are). The New Lieutenants of Metal are an elite strike force of heroic headbangers that exists to mete out harsh justice whenever and wherever necessary. They're a new breed of superhero,
