Did You Know?

The black-and-white film within the film that the character Chazz watches on the television is actually footage from a super-16mm project that director Daniel Kremer shot in 2008 with his cinematographer Aaron Hollander. This project, then titled "Leaving Yvonne Pregnant in the Kitchen," was abandoned for logistical reasons. Kremer had been itching for years to return to it to complete it. When directing A Simple Game of Catch, he realized that both films had similar themes, so he decided to incorporate the old footage into the new work as a film within the film. See more »

Emily 'Chazz' Powell: Larry's away, and... I'm looking after his parrot.
The Rabbi: I didn't know Larry had a parrot.
Emily 'Chazz' Powell: He does.
The Rabbi: I can hear him. Well, you have a good shabbos. Would you like some candles for... you are Jewish, right?
Emily 'Chazz' Powell: No.
The Rabbi: You look lovely enough to be Jewish!
Emily 'Chazz' Powell: Thank you.
Emily 'Chazz' Powell: [nervously closes door on him]
