Goofs

When they are returned to the asylum we see their camera footage as the doors open, revealing they are back in the steam tunnels of the facility. However there is an edit to the security video from the elevator and it shows that nobody was currently filming with a camera.

When Alex, Trevor and Jennifer meet Lance, he has a very cloudy left eye (it was the eye that was entered into for the lobotomy). Later, when Alex and Jennifer meet Lance at the gate where they are supposedly able to get out, we see the cameras floating around Lance. Both his eyes are perfectly fine, scene cuts and when cameras again go back to Lance, his left eye is again cloudy.

When Alex is found by the police in the middle of the road, just beforehand it states that it is December 5, 2011. The date on the police video says it's the early hours of December 4, 2011.

(around 1 hr) When Alex and his gang leave the hotel, the security camera shows the date as December 3rd, 2011. However, when the gang go into the elevator - the date is now December 4th.

When Alex enters the studio in attempt to interrogate the filmmakers behind the Grave Encounters movie, the date on the security camera shows the date is November 31st, 2011. The month of November actually has 30 days.

When the three survivors are returned to the asylum Alex declares they never actually arrived at the hotel, and that the asylum tricked them into believing they had left. However during their time at the hotel there is footage of them walking the halls captured by the hotel security cameras.

The coda of the film gives an interview where Alex and Jerry imply that everything shown had been real events. That would mean they willingly released a film displaying Alex committing homicide on camera.
