1989. On the outskirts of Bilbao (Basque Country, north to Spain) live Óscar and Andoni, two friends with the same problem: they have no job after they were fired from the factory where they worked as well their supervisor Juanma, a former upper-class man who lost his lifestyle and his money from a day to another. The gang completes with Néstor, another fired worker who recently opened a video rental shop obsessed that the VHS videotapes are the future for his family despite the debts incurred when his two associates declined in the last second to support money to the business. Not worrying about their respective daughters and having an estranged relation with them, the four men find themselves forced to travel Berlin for a feminine gymnastics school competition when their respective mothers, after a party night with too much alcohol, are unavailable because the hangover. Reluctants and with a strong desire to come back Bilbao, Nina (German gym teacher) confronts them determined to win the competition. Along the travel, the four men start to realize how much little they know their own children, while Néstor comes obsessing with the aging bus driver, Arrupe, a former priest and teacher who left him deaf of one ear by his abusive character. Then, an unexpected event changes everything for them: it's the November 9 night; Wall of Berlin tear down.
