Here's another of the collaborations between James White and William Heisse as his cameraman. Some men are playing a game on the beach, while some ladies with their backs to the cameras watch. A donkey cart ambles by, interrupting the flow of motion with its irrelevancy. Thus we have the salient points of most of the works of the two worst film makers of the 1890s: distraction, the backs of people, and oh yes, the actual movement is shot so far away that it's unclear what's going on.
The umbrellas that the ladies hold lends this a slight air of something like a Seurat painting, but I think that's sheer exhaustion on my part.
