The Science Behind Why You Love Watching the Same Shows Over and Over Again
No matter how many times I rewatch The Office, or Parks and Recreation, or any of the shows I've binged on a loop for years, that isn't going to magically bring them back. I know this. I know that I'll never get closure about what was written on that note Jim gave to Pam, or what actually happened between Donna and Lavondrius during the microwave incident. But there's something in the nostalgia of rewatching old favorites that is just so much more satisfying than starting anything on my never-ending list of new Netflix recommendations - and that's not about to change any time soon.

As far as entertainment goes, I'll probably watch any show at least once. When it comes down to it, though, I'm a creature of habit and I like to be able to go home and click a button that will instantly transport me to Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch.

Game Of Thrones Season 8 Premiere Had Two Big Cameos Nobody Caught

When there are A, B, and C-list celebrities who would be happy to have even a two-second cameo in a TV show, producers have to know they’re doing something right. Even if that guest appearance ends in their gruesome death.

Game of Thrones is no stranger to this, having had performer Ed Sheeran singing by a campfire, Mlb pitcher Noah Syndergaard serving in Jaime Lannister’s army, and YouTube comedian Steve Love getting axed by the Hound. The second and third of those didn’t cause quite stir as much discussion as Sheeran’s cameo did though, with fans chastising the show for “selling out” just to get a big name entertainer to sing on the series.

The fallout from that cameo didn’t stop the producers from continuing on with the tradition, though, as Silicon Valley‘s Martin Starr and Rob McElhenney of It’s Always Sunny In

Taika Waititi Will Join Ryan Reynolds in Director Shawn Levy's Free Guy

It looks like Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) is going to take a break from directing and appear in Ryan Reynolds‘ upcoming film Free Guy, which is being directed by Stranger Things producer and director Shawn Levy. It’s also reported that Utkarsh Ambudkar has also joined the film.

The story centers around a bank teller (Reynolds) “stuck in his routine discovers he’s a background character in a rather brutal open world, action-adventure video game and he is the only one capable of saving his world.” It’s also said the film is in the vein of The Truman Show.

There’s no information on who Waititi is playing, but he will join the previously cast Jodie Comer, Joe Kerry and Lil Rel.

I love the concept. This could end up being an incredibly fun movie, especially with a cast like Reynolds and Waititi. I hope that they share a lot of screen time together!

Summer Horror Movie Head Count Is The Thing Meets It Follows

Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired North American rights to the motion picture and has plans set in motion to unleash the movie into a theater near you and on digital this June. Sweet.

Samuel Goldwyn's Miles Fineburg, who repped the deal with Derek Kigongo at Paradigm on behalf of the filmmakers, said in a recent statement.

I think Netflix is intentionally trying to give me a heart attack today. Not only did the streaming platform release the season three trailer for Stranger Things (as well as some clue-filled photos from the sci-fi show), but it's also been announced that rom-com queen and all-around genius Mindy Kaling is developing a brand-new Netflix series.
