Phryne attends to her aunt Prudence when one of her servants, Marigold Brown, is found dead in her swimming pool. Everyone is on edge as it's the day before aunt Pru's son Guy - Phryne's cousin - is to have his engagement party. Aunt Pru claims to have found the girl in the pool, but it was her other son, Arthur, who has the mental age of a child, who actually found her. The girl's father, Herbert, was working in the horse barn at the time and Guy can confirm his alibi. When Phryne finds a candy apple in the bushes, she realizes it must be the work of Murdoch Foyle who is somehow alive.—garykmcd
