Cláudio Assis's Little Book of Love
guisreis8 June 2020
Cláudio Assis is a director whose cinema seems to have as the main goal to disturb with its weirdness. It may happen in a movie I considered as meaningless bad taste, like Mango Yellow, or in an ultra violent portrait of misogyny, as Bog of Beasts. With beautiful cinematography and quite bad sound, Rat Fever is like a version of Little Book of Love (Pequeno Dicionário Amoroso) from Cláudio Assis's mind.

Aggressively tartly voluptuous and poetic. Cláudio Assis and Hilton Lacerda back again with your study more complex and profound.

After abbreviated express our needs 'Mango Yellow', tackled just as stomach and sex, and to explore the rottenness and misery of the human soul 'Baixio of Beasts', a polemical director Cláudio Assis Pernambuco is back to warn by Poetry professed the affections of the Beat Generation, that people are losing their way of shouting and claim their rights and predicates. I like how the background, the city of Recife disarray. Symbolizing a collective and messy, which survives more than lives. The recardo comes to corroborate that even through shallow criticism or belched, the manifesto of the people is an essential factor to form a corporation that later can disrupt. Abancando the appropriate analogue created by the leader of the Mangue Beat - Chico Sciense - who also had their principles, alluding to the population about current social problems, cultural and political.

Without any apparent moral responsibility, an affable image, in keeping with the slogans like "save the customs reprehensible" or "we want the right to make mistakes," we presented the main character in this dramatic romance disguised. With a depraved life of sex everyday, casual use of alcohol, drugs, and a fiery freedom - the greatest style Jack Kerouac in his conceptual 'On The Road' - Zizo is a nonconformist, anarchic poet who, through the help of the mother retired and friends, banking the publication of his tabloid, which leads to the name of 'Rat Fever'. Northeastern typical expression that has meaning for someone who lies buried out of control. With reference to the total rag that has spread its extravagant opinion of poetry, on the foundation to make people live a life without abocar the shackles imposed by civilized existence. The poet, as it is called by his group of companions and followers, growing up an apparent alternative society, undermines equality and induces love to all who are around you. This equality, subversive. When at one point in front of a homosexual love affair, an expression which considers intercourse is simple: "because daring is complete."

Even with all the emotional relevance of daily Zizo, carnal love in his life, was still perpetuated the Platonic form. Circumstance that can be elucidated with a quote from the poet and singer Cazuza, that in one of his compositions, referred to the speech: "If every one who loves, loves to be matched. If all someone I love, love is like the moon inaccessible. I just do not love anyone and is only love that I breathe. "This happens until he meets the young student Aeneid. Designation of a poem in its context, has complete reference to the girl's personality and its role in the story. As the text of Virgil's Aeneid, the character appears as an object of destruction and embellishment on the ideals and thoughts of the troubadour. Unlike other cases, this seems impractical, since in no time she surrenders to the "charms and charm" of Zizo. Anyway, the main obstacle is allocated in the plot. And from there, all actions of the protagonist is connected to your new desire. In his mind he saw himself as one of the most evolved individuals of this world, but given the situation that was discovered, his actions bordered on childishness.

Following in the mold of Cinema Marginal Glauber Rocha and Nelson Pereira, Assisi assumes, as usual, a homogeneous and courageous leadership. Abusing of long-sequence, flowing organically and are essential for building suspense and tension in the scenes taken. Or in extensive dialogues with closeups closed, even by being the responsibility of the actors on screen, is also accredited by the positions framed and bold camera angles used. Among all the trickery used by the filmmaker, called me a lot of attention, even by the fact that it is present in all his works. Through an aerial panoramic machine, which travels throughout the set, we have a unique view of all the intimacy of the characters lived in times of relaxation. And even though we know the eccentric cinematic skills of Claudio, the script subscrevido by Hilton Lacerda, is certainly the most prominent of this work. Since the film was thrust upon the breaths of Zizo. What is majestically played by actor Irandhir Santos (Tropa de Elite 2), perpetrating a memorable performance. And of course, the bold presence of Nanda Costa (Stolen Dreams), who with his Aeneid, not felt constrained by coeval nudity.

Like every great orchestra, the film is also governed by a conductor. Signed by Jorge Du Peixe (singer of the band Zombie Nation), the soundtrack accompanying diegeticamente, all actions of the tale, and is extremely accurate in the timing and progress of time. All narrative concepts created by director depend almost entirely on the assembly of Karen Harley. That flirts with the Italian Neo-realism, searching through documentary footage, presenting the reality of escarcéus. Or even from German Expressionism to relate various figures in order to generate specific feelings in the viewer. For all this to work cohesively, the national teacher of photography, Walter Carvalho, exudes competence, the evidence coming through their lens, a Recife in mourning, black and white, lifeless, even mesmerizing. Printing also on the universality scenario without color. Factors that make the film artistically exquisite in technique. Reaching all points desired by the team.

Leaving a message of freedom and struggle for the association contemporary, 'Rat Fever' emerges as a cautious warning to awaken from the sleep of appropriate comfort and stagnation. Stressing that no battle is unprofitable. And, even if no one listens or some attempt to prohibit, we will persist with our ideals. For even anarchy need tradition. Vibrate and shout together, things like "lower recycling and lapidagem alive." The poet leaves a legacy that must be continued and revered.
