The plot of Watch Dogs is Aiden Pearce is a hacker that has hacked a system called ctOS (Central Operating System). When Aiden takes his hacking skills too far and hacks the wrong people they retaliate by killing his niece but Aiden Pearce swears vengeance on ctOS and all who control it. With his new gained power he can now find and kill all who control ctOS and end the system.
Everything is connected. Hacking is our weapon.

When the game was announced in 2012, the developers were claiming that the game was so advanced that the recent console generation (which were the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii/Wii U at the time) couldn't handle it. Next to the promising gameplay mechanic, the E3 trailer was especially praised for its realistic visuals, which quickly made this game to one of the most anticipated titles. However, shortly after the game's release in 2014, the game received harsh criticism, because it suffered many bugs and glitches, including one that corrupted the save file. Random people on the streets recognize Aiden as the Vigilante, yet it's a huge shock to sister Nikki - who despite being held captive for the bulk of the game knows all about the Vigilante's exploits - when she finds out he is her own brother. See more
CTOS... it really is a wonder of human ingenuity. A model system making a model city for model citizens. I wonder what Blume said about potential hacks to the system. Sound debate, I'm sure. "Hackers? Oh relax. Our CTOS is the most advanced blabbidy blah blah blah." Hubris, Aiden. It'll get you every time. But then you know that very well, don't you?
