Trivia

When Tara (Rutina Wesley) tells Elijah (Keram Malicki-Sánchez) "I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' no vampire babies!" was a nod to Gone With The Wind (1939) and its infamous line spoken by Prissy (Butterfly McQueen) "I don't know nothin' bout birthin' babies!". Tara has mentioned the film before, saying her neglectful mom named her after the slave plantation Tara. See more »

Goofs

When Eric and Nora are speaking to Godric in a vision, the vampire Lilith first tears Godric's throat then tears off his head. As Godric explodes in a shower of blood you can see that Lilith's left arm is up as the blood shower begins but suddenly down, next to her side once the blood has covered her with no time to put her arm down. Looking closely, you can tell where the 2 different shots were seamed together between Lilith without blood to Lilith covered in blood. See more »

Quotes

Nora Gainesborough: Father. How have you come?
Godric: My blood is in you. I'm with you always.
Nora Gainesborough: No, you left me centuries ago. The blood of Lilith is within me now!
Godric: Lilith is a godless god. She will lead you and all around you to destruction.
Nora Gainesborough: How can you say that? After all the years that you and I and Eric hunted and killed together? How can you tell me it's wrong?
Godric: Because I have done what you've failed to do. I've evolved.
