This is a 90-minute television movie from 2.5 years ago. The cast is actually fairly decent for a small-screen release. Peter Lohmeyer plays the lead inspector and it is already the second time for him (two years after the first) as Jan Fabel. Pay attention to his name (fable) and how this movie and the first have animal names in their titles. Apart from him, Schönemann, Klink and Ninidze are also fairly known in Germany if you have an interest in our movies. The writer here is the same like the one from "Wolfsfährte", but the director is somebody else. Nils Willbrandt has worked on several "Tatort" episodes for example already. Back to Lohmeyer, he is probably on the extended list of Germany's most known actors right now. It seems to be a trend that these play police officers on television. Lauterbach and Ferch did it recently, George did it a long time ago already.
The action is basically about some Nordic cult, which abducts young women and abuses them in the manner of their beliefs. In fact an interesting plot, but I wondered how Ninidze's character fits into all of this as he really has no Nordic background here at all. Still, I have to say his escape sequence in the end was nicely done and very tense. With the way, things developed in the end, I would guess that there really will be another movie, but it's from 2012 already, so I am not too sure. It was very much a cliffhanger, however, as we watch the ambulance driving into the night. Finally, a positive highlight was Schönemann who is one of Germany's most underrated actors right now, while the negative highlight is Klink. I am not talking about her acting here, but her character is written so stereotypically and all her actions are completely against those of chief inspector which she is, but more of a naive stupid woman who definitely picked the wrong profession. One weak scene would be when she and Schönemann's character watch a suspect and she kisses him (like from a bad romance movie), so they would not attract any attention. But right afterward they openly watch the suspect, even talk about him, so he could easily see them. Pretty stupid. The writer really needs a lesson on female characters. This was the film's biggest struggle in my opinion. But there are more. not recommended.
