Funny, top-notch episode

Warning: Spoilers
I remember watching the first episode of this series and it quickly became one of my favorite series (which is usually the death knell for a series, e.g. Chicago Code and Detroit 187) but fortunately this one lasted. I thought last season was getting somewhat tiresome with it interminable thread of Brenda's actions regarding returning a criminal to his old neighborhood, but this final season has gotten off to a good start. Far and away my favorite episodes are those featuring Brenda's parents or the occasionally doofus acting duo Provenza and Flynn. And this episode was a corker – humorous and with an interesting storyline. Brenda's reaction to Flynn and Provenza's screw-ups is always fun to behold. In this episode, robbers are targeting pawnshops and using the ruse that they are cops with a search warrant to gain access to the stores' safes. Provenza and Flynn stumble upon a robbery in progress but don't realize it and think one of the robbers is a store employee. Later the store's owner is found dead of an apparent heart attack. Provenza's first ex-wife and her dog are figured prominently in the show and provide much of the humor. However, the best line in the show goes to Captain Raydor. When the partner of the dead man is questioned, his only concern is whether or not the robbers took what was in the safe. Raydor, in her wonderful deadpan manner says something like: "Did you miss the part where we told you your partner was dead?" Marvelous bit of dialog.

Rolling on the floor laughing

I just loved this episode There are so many funny lines that after I watched it and was lying in bed I started laughing again. Hillarious!! So fun! Thanks for the great writing. I imagined all the actors laughing when they were filming this! I don't know how they did much if it with a straight face! Great hour of TV! My favorite scene was when the male criminal was ordering lunch.
