In 'Ging Gang Goolie' the Tabor Heights sheriff refers to 'Schwarzkopf himself' having visited the town to investigate the criminal activity there. This is a reference to real life figure Colonel Norman Schwarzkopf Sr., the father of the famous Gulf War General who was head of the newly formed New Jersey State Police. He would later find fame investigating the Lindbergh baby kidnapping and would host the crime themed radio show 'Gangbusters'.

Even though the 1864 song "When You and I Were Young, Maggie" was a standard in 1923, when the story takes place, the famous John McCormack recording that is heard under the conclusion of the greenhouse scene at the end was not recorded until 1925, two years later.
