"Postcards from Lahore" is a succinct journey into the heart of the ancient city of Lahore, depicting a facade of cultural and visual resplendence which many outside Pakistan fail to withhold (owing to a string of reasons which are aptly discussed in the documentary). For someone who has rarely ever come across any foreigner his whole life, I was pleasantly surprised to see the interviews involving an American and a couple of British tourists, all of whom appeared sun-burnt, but cordial in their opinion of the locals and marveled at the plethora of historical monuments imbued within a single city. The narrator has done an impressive job in capturing the archetypal Lahori lifestyle in a manner which is both informative and light-hearted.

Notwithstanding my partiality for my home town, I would highly recommend anyone who exhibits a taste for travelling to buy a few loose shirts, a couple of shorts, some prescribed remedy for ultra-spicy food and hop on the next plane to Lahore.
