I love so many Bravo shows and I "knew" Kandi from RH. I watch RH of ATL, BH, OC, NY and NJ and like them all, as well as several other Bravo shows, so I set my DVR to record this series, expecting it to be as interesting as other Bravo shows I enjoy. I tried 3 times to watch and each time, I got so bored, I shut it down. Today, I determined I'd watch the whole thing, to give it a fair shot, before canceling future recordings - so I just sat through the 4th showing and only through sheer will power did I finally make it to the end! I can't think of one reason to watch another episode or continue taping.
Though I like Kandi, from what I've seen of her on RH, her grammar sort of grates on me. Every time she says "hisself", or something similar, I cringe for her. She's clearly a smart lady, but using this kind of grammar makes her sound much less intelligent than she is. Of course, this show offered plenty of opportunity to hear Kandi's special brand of grammar.
The "makeovers" done on both contestants, IMO, were really awful. The young woman was very pretty and natural looking when she arrived. After her makeover, she was hideously overly made up, which detracted from her natural beauty, IMO. The "hairstyle", complete with shaved swirls on the young man was...well, just laughable. I don't see where anything shown that was done to, or "taught" to either contestant, will help them become successful. If either of them do, I don't think it will be due to anything related to The Kandi Factory.
If the show had been interesting, I could overlook the poor grammar and bad makeovers. It just wasn't able to capture my attention, so this isn't something I will watch again or that I can recommend.
