They learn from the FBI that the man was involved with a man who's a drug smuggler and that he was going to testify against him and then enter the Witness Protection Program. They talk to his wife and son and when asked if they told anyone about it, the son mentions that his mother has a life coach whom she told. They get the man and learn that he wrote a script about the man and his associates. So the man he was going to testify against could have found out about it and had him killed.
