Dark Dreamers: Stan Winston (2001)

** (out of 4)

--Jurassic Park III --Action figures --Typical work day

Stan Winston is the guest in this rather disappointing entry in the series. Unfortuantly for the viewer Winston is asked about what he's currently working on and for nearly half the interview he's talking about these action figures his company is working on. You really get the idea that they're just wanting to see them so we get this long, drawn-out conversation about these action figures and you wish the host would have just cut it off or at least cut it out of the show. After this boring first half things finally start to pick up as Winston talks about his upcoming work on Steven Spielberg's A.I. and JURASSIC PARK III. Winston talks about having to come up with a new kind of robot and how difficult the process has been. He also talks about taking the dinosaurs and turning them into actors, which is something they could do with JP3 but not something they could have done on the original film. The 25-minute interview basically deals with these subjects and at the end you can't help but wonder why ALIENS, T2 and various other films aren't mentioned.
