Trivia

The show was originally picked up for a pilot by NBC, based on Kaling's deal with the network stemming from her years as a writer/producer/actress on "The Office". When NBC passed on the show, Fox TV chief executive Kevin Reilly--who had filled the same role at NBC when "The Office" began its hugely successful run--immediately moved to acquire it, and gave it a full 13-episode order to start the 2012-13 season. Quotes

Mindy Lahiri: I cannot keep hooking up with Jeremy and then later asking him, "Hey what's our deal anyway?"
Gwen Grandy: That British guy? He is bad news!
Mindy Lahiri: We do not know that he is bad news. I think he has a good heart. I think he is Hugh Grant in 'About a Boy.'
Gwen Grandy: I think that he is Hugh Grant in real life!
