It is a nice representation of the passion and division of the Roman culture around the chariot racing, albeit with some poetic licence to keep the viewer engaged.
There was a lot to take on in throughout the episode with it launching into multiple story lines which is exciting but left you feeling unsure which was the main one.
A strong, engaging, enticing opening all round with room for growth.
I will finish with, this is classic Hopkins. The nuances of movements, expressions and delivery are on show. A joy to watch him!
