The "Santa Clause" is a modern day classic. I think the only other films that are more popular is "A Christmas Story" "Christmas Vacation"and "Home Alone".
While "The Santa Clause" has been a hit on home video since 1995 the film has not had a proper DVD or Blu-Ray release. There has never been a making of documentary or an audio commentary. Until we do this "Inside Story" edition will be best thing available however even this special is not available on DVD
Now this making of documentary has everything you could want in it. they talk about pre-production and casting. Filming, post production and editing also get equal treatment.
What was nice to hear was that it did gloss over the problems the makers had with the studio and its budget restraints. It also points out one major goof. What was the most informative to me was that I found ot there were about 30 minutes worth of scenes that were deleted from the film. I hope one day we will see them!
If you like "The Santa Clause" then you will enjoy this special.
