Although the story may seem simpler, including the editing, it all completely overwhelms what the film offers the viewer, if they are willing to accept it, and I have not experienced such a level of "something extra" in a film production for a long time. I was overwhelmed not only by the beautiful remote nature of northern Polynesia, the occupation of indigenous land and the careless management of water, but also by the unique combination of races and the trilingual speech and customs of the Hawaiian Islands and the Philippines, the clash of two completely different individuals coming from completely different cultural backgrounds, beautiful music and songs in which the translated pieces literally fit the ongoing story one hundred percent, and the romance of the two young men completely enchanted me. I will safely say with exaggeration that "a tattooed heterosexual Hawaiian and a hula hula dancer slammed the immigrant Filipino". Beautiful and tears well up in my eyes...
