TV Review: Swift, Cabello, Lipa, Cardi Leave Dudes in Dust on American Music Awards
Elections have consequences, and by electing Taylor Swift as the American Music Awards’ artist of the year, pop fans gave the superstar another platform from which to spread her crazy, incendiary, rabble-rousing entreaties to… find a polling place. “Every single award given out tonight was voted on by the people,” Swift said, upon picking up her third and final award of the evening, “and you know what else is voted on by the people is the midterm elections Nov. 6. Get out and vote.” As if we needed a reason to like her about 25% more right now.

No one would accuse the AMAs of getting repeatedly or unusually political in the broadcast that took place from L.A. Microsoft Theater Tuesday night, but one presenter did take a cue from Swift, and that was presenting comedian Billy Eichner, who took the audience to church as he sermonized, “Young people of America,

Leah Remini Claims If Katie Holmes Talks To Her She Could Lose Custody Of Suri Cruise

Who knew friendship could be so hard? In a surprising new interview with Lapalme, Leah Remini opened up about her former friend Katie Holmes — and revealed something actually heartwrenching about Tom Cruise's ex-wife. "I thought comedy would be my life. I don't consider myself a champion. The people who speak on the show are champions," Leah, 48, said. "But I keep wondering: why haven't Katie Holmes or Nicole Kidman spoken out? I assume they were forced to sign prohibitive documents." She then added, "Trust me, Katie's not allowed to have a meal with me, and we used to be close friends. She could lose custody of Suri [Cruise]. It's quite sick, really." As many know, Katie was married to Tom from 2006 until 2012, so she used to have ties to the Church of Scientology. • The Wrap
Warner Bros. announced on Thursday that it will release Clint Eastwood’s next film, “The Mule,” on Dec. 14.

Eastwood stars as Earl Stone, a man in his 80s who is broke, alone, and facing foreclosure of his business when he is offered a job that simply requires him to drive. What he doesn’t know is that he is actually being employed to smuggle drugs, and while he quickly gains the favor of the cartel and better pay, he also catches the attention of the DEA.

Warner Bros. tells TheWrap that the mid-December slot was selected because it was seen as a spot where “The Mule” could stand out as an option for moviegoers looking for an adult drama. Other films being released on Dec. 14 include Sony’s animated “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” Stx’s romantic comedy “Second Act,” and the Universal fantasy film “Mortal Engines.”

Jennifer Lopez Romantic Comedy ‘Second Act’ Heads To The Heart Of The Holiday Season
Jennifer Lopez’s romantic comedy Second Act from STX is moving out of the crowded Thanksgiving Eve frame of Wednesday Nov. 21 to Dec. 14.

This puts the Peter Segal-directed film in a pre-Christmas weekend as counterprogramming to Universal’s fantasy pic Mortal Engines and Sony’s fanboy animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

We hear Second Act is moving due to some incredible test screenings. Universal’s TIFF winner Green Book, the Viggo Mortensen-Mahershala Ali drama about pianist Don Shirley and his Italian-American chauffeur, landed on Second Act‘s old date of Nov. 21 recently, looking to make a play for women and older audiences.

Second Act is a comedy along the lines of Working Girl and Maid In Manhattan. Lopez plays Maya, a 40-year-old woman struggling with unfulfilled dreams. Until, that is, she gets the chance to prove to Madison Avenue that street smarts are as valuable as book smarts,

‘This Is Us’ Star Milo Ventimiglia on Jack’s Future After Season 2 (Video)
This story about Milo Ventimiglia first appeared in the Down to the Wire issue of TheWrap’s Emmy magazine.

Milo Ventimiglia hogged the tear-jerking moments during the second season of “This Is Us”: It’s hard to think of a more heartbreaking scene than the death of his character, Jack Pearson, and impossible to top the bittersweet dream sequence that showed us what a world with an old Jack would be like. And going into Season 3 — with Jack’s on-screen demise finally behind us — Ventimiglia is ready to flashback and, maybe forward, again.

“It is funny, I have nothing that I look forward to on the show other than just being there,” Ventimiglia said. “It’s one of those jobs that I’m going to compare every other job after this to. And if they were to say, ‘Hey, we’re going back to Old Man Jack,’ great. If they say,
