At age 9 years and 135 days, Wallis is (to date) the youngest ever nominee for the Academy Award for Best Actress. She earned this honor in the same year as the award's oldest ever nominee, Emmanuelle Riva.

"Beasts of the Southern Wild", a brilliant film debut from Benh Zeitlin illustrates the fundamental issues of freedom, human life and parental love with boundless emotion and true originality.
