A Golden mix of zany characters and story
19 October 2014 | by See all my reviews

The Golden Scallop is a hilarious and often crazy look at a Seafood cooking competition in the Northeast. The cast works brilliantly together, great chemistry and I wondered how they were able to get so many talented people, not being a big budget film. It was impressive seeing how they filmed the cooking scenes too, they looked so great. James Cosmo as the judge comes up with a gem of a performance and my other favorite character is Tobias Jelinek as Seth the fry cook, who also hit it out of the park.

If you are a fan of Napoleon Dynamite, you will probably love this film. In my opinion it is right up there with the Christopher Guest films and one of my absolute favorite comedies I have seen in the last year.
